Eric Cord
(John J. York) was a graduate student in college whose life took
a bizarre turn when his best friend, Ted, claims to be a
werewolf. Eric does not believe him until he sees Ted transform.
In self defense, Eric kills his friend, but not before being
bitten.
Now, Eric is afflicted by the deadly curse of the Lycanthrope, a
condition preceded by the emergence of the pentagram on the palm
of his hand. The only way to eradicate the curse is to find and
kill the source of the bloodline, Captain Janos Skorzeny (Chuck
Connors). Eric embarks on a cross-country hunt for the evil
Skorzeny while being pursued by bounty hunter Alamo Joe Rogan
(Lance LeGault) for Ted's murder.
Werewolf ran on FOX at various times during its 29-episode run.
After its last original episode aired on FOX in May 1988, the
series had very limited reruns on various networks. In 2009, the
Werewolf series was scheduled to be officially released to DVD,
but due to the inability of obtaining the music licensing rights
for all the songs featured in the episodes, the project was
abandoned.
